Grade 3 Update & Homework
August 24-28, 2009

Note to Parents:

-- It was wonderful to meet all the parents and students last week. We can tell already that this is a wonderful class and the children have adjusted quite easily to third grade.
-- Each week, you will receive a short update and the weekly homework assignments. While the homework for the entire week is given on Monday, students may wish to follow the recommended schedule. This will prevent them from having too much work on one day. In addition, many times (for math, especially) the homework coincides with a lesson covered that day during class. Some students may have trouble and get frustrated completing an assignment if they had not yet learned that particular skill. All homework should be returned on Friday morning.

-- Please note that our classroom has a blog located at http://carmel-3.blogspot.com/ You will find a copy of the homework posted on this blog along with other helpful information, a reminder of the homework policy and important dates to remember. We would like the students to check this blog on a regular basis. Since this may be new to some of them, we will introduce this in class over the next few days.
Monday
· Read 15 minutes (a "Just-Right" book of your choice)
· Find one old sock, one group family photograph and one box (small or large). All items should be brought in no later then Friday.

Tuesday
· Read 15 minutes
· Math Workbook Lesson 1.1
Wednesday
· Read 15 minutes
· Math Workbook Lesson 1.2
Thursday
· Read 15 minutes
· Math Workbook Lesson 1.3
· Bring all your completed homework, sock, box and family photo tomorrow.
Friday
· Enjoy your weekend ;-)
